SOLO EXHIBITION BY VLADIMIR TEMKOV

“THE SUN OF KAVADARCI IN THE LIGHT OF TEMKOV’S WORKS”

Within the annual programme of the Public Institution Cultural Center “Ilo Anteski-Smok” – Tetovo, supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism, the opening ceremony of the solo exhibition by the renowned painter Vladimir Temkov was held, titled “The Sun of Kavadarci in the Light of Temkov’s Works”, curated by Jasmina Krstoska.

The exhibition presents a carefully selected cycle of works in which the landscape of the artist’s native region, layers of memory, and cultural identity are intertwined in a powerful visual expression, forming a rich and multidimensional artistic narrative.

At the opening ceremony, Maestro Pavle Kuzmanoski and academician Nevzat Bejtuli – Kica addressed the audience, in tribute and memory of Maestro Vladimir Temkov, highlighting his significant contribution to contemporary visual art. The exhibition features 25 works created in acrylic on canvas, where color, compositional rhythm, and the symbolism of the local landscape form a harmonious artistic whole.

The exhibition was met with strong interest from art lovers and the cultural public, once again confirming the value and importance of Temkov’s artistic oeuvre.

About the artist

VLLADIMIR TEMKOV

Vlladimir Temkov was born in Kavadarci in 1959. He completed his secondary art education, Pedagogical Academy, and Faculty of Fine Arts in Skopje, where he also finished his postgraduate studies in painting. He lives and works in Kavadarci.

Throughout his artistic career, he has held dozens of solo exhibitions in North Macedonia and abroad, presenting his work in Turkey, Bulgaria, Croatia, Kosovo, and other countries. He has also participated in numerous group exhibitions, art colonies, and international projects.

Temkov is the founder and curator of the International Art Colony in Kavadarci and one of the most active figures in organizing art colonies in the region. As part of his professional development, he has undertaken study residencies in Paris, New York, and Turkey.

For his contribution to visual arts, he has been awarded the state lifetime achievement award “11 October”, as well as numerous other awards and recognitions in the field of art and culture.
